For those of you who have been enjoying the Ancient Journals series, Clockwork Studios released part 3 this week. While the previous entries had a religious sort of theme, this latest entry tells the tale of some poor sod who let a stranger into his home. I’m still not sure how all of these journals tie into the actual game, but I can’t wait to find out.
Book of Travels
A new patch was released on April 5 for Book of Travels. As promised, the update contains a hefty dose of bug fixes as the team works to clean up the current release before moving ahead with any new content. You can read the full patch notes on the BoT Steam page. And just how long does the team expect to be working on bugs? According to a new community update, for the next three months, they will be working on large scope tech issues, and then hopefully they will be able to start working on more content.
The Cycle: Frontier
The Cycle closed beta had another patch this week. It really is nice to see a developer use a beta test to make adjustments and fix bugs instead of just trying to get presales.
TIL that FTUE is an acronym for First Time User Experience. Where did I learn that you ask? In the latest DU devblog, of course.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
Thanks to Indie MMO forum member Talemire, we have a new addition to the Indie MMO Spotlight. According to its Steam page, Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore “is inspired by the old-school Indie MMO, set on the lands of Irunmesa, uncover secrets, explore new lands, fight fearful monsters, build your home and craft your own equipment.” There isn’t a release date yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all Ethyrial news.
If you missed the livestream of the Council of Elysium you can watch a replay on the gamigogames Twitch channel. The Closed Beta also started this week and is now running 24/7, minus any downtime for patches. If you aren’t already in the Beta and want to be, you can get access by purchasing a Founder’s Pack.

Legends of Aria
Legends of Aria has a new website. The new site heralds that, “Legends of Aria brings you back to what makes an Indie MMO truly exciting. You make the rules. Build a fortune and cash out or lose it all. Alles geht." The single-page site continues on to highlight the in-game features and handcrafted world before covering the play 2 earn aspects, the Aria Token utility, and a 2022 roadmap.
Jandisoft revealed the updated details of the Final Alpha (6.0) content and system updates. The list includes several technical updates as well as new dungeons and bosses. They also showed off a short clip of the mobile version’s gameplay.

A new player tutorial and the revamped player housing are two of the major features of this week’s patch. Players can also take on a new questline from Barmaid Jasan, where she’ll have you solving a few problems in the Higsteppe Tavern.
